What you can expect from your yoga holiday...

One of the Top 20 Yoga Retreats in the World...Named by the Times and The Guardian as one of the best in the World, Yoga Explorers' retreat to Tigmi has been running for 6 years and continues to be an international favourite. Set in the tranquility of a Berber Village with a backdrop of the Atlas Mountains and the distant twinkle of the ancient city, meandering flower-lined paths lead through scented gardens and secret courtyards to exquisite A/C ensuite bedrooms, all beautifully furnished in local style.

Mouthwatering meals... Seemingly endless delicious buffet breakfasts, with the best freshly squeezed orange juice we've ever tasted, fabulous healthy lunches with a huge selection of mouth-watering fresh salads, breads, and fruit, and 3-course sit-down dinners are prepared daily by Tigmi's chefs!

Transformational yoga... Lisa is one of the most powerful teachers we've come across. Down to earth and light-hearted, her knowledge, experience, and wisdom are second to none.  Avoiding complicated terminology, she uses practical tools to lead you directly to the heart of yoga. Lisa's delivery is unhurried, reasoned and progressive, foregoing fast-paced sequences for graceful, sophisticated movement that will bring about lasting positive change in your body and mind.

Two classes with Lisa are offered each day on the fabulous rooftop yoga terrace. For any cooler evenings, there is also a beautiful indoor studio. Each practice will have elements of slow and fluid breath-led movement, longer held restorative postures, relaxation, and meditation.

Spend your days between classes...

Discovering the enchanting grounds and relaxing by one of the pools... Lounge on the comfortable beds by one of two fabulous pools; explore the endless paths and corridors leading to scented gardens of citrus trees, roses, hibiscus and bougainvillea and hidden peaceful courtyards and terraces; or experience a true taste of Morocco with mint tea on the restaurant terrace.

Pamper yourself... Tigmi features a fabulous spa and hammam, both of which use natural, chemical-free ingredients sourced nearby. Download our spa pricelist

Walking and exploring the local area... Beautiful and fascinating walks can be taken in every direction from Tigmi. From a walk around the local village to the wide-open terrain leading towards the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Tours can be arranged by the Tigmi team for half- and full-day trips.

Visit the must-see UNESCO world heritage site of the Medina (old city) of Marrakech... Take the free shuttle from Tigmi to the Medina of Marrakesh and experience the magic of the ancient city. Snake charmers, acrobats, musicians and story-tellers await you in the main square, Djemaa el Fna, while narrow streets lead into the labyrinth of souks, alive with colour and sound.

Your teacher - Lisa Jones

Lisa Jones

My introduction to yoga came quite early as my dad was a dedicated yoga practitioner, although it wasn’t until I moved to Manchester in the early 1990’s that I started developing a regular practice, as it supported my body, mind and health throughout my career as a professional dancer.

After years of studying many different forms of yoga, including Iyengar, hatha, yin and meditation, I enrolled on my first teacher training course with Simon Low at The Yoga Academy, and became a qualified teacher in 2006.

Now, after 10 years of teaching yoga professionally, I lead a therapeutic, educational and accessible practice. I have a very down-to-earth approach to yoga and in the last few years I have been deeply influenced by my studies in embodiment, somatic movement, experiential anatomy and meditation which have enriched my life, my practice and my teaching.

This has led me to develop a taught practice that is breath-led, fluid, explorative and playful. Moving slowly and mindfully to develop inner awareness and outward stability, the body grows stronger, healthier and more pliable whilst the mind becomes more peaceful and still. A shift from a state of tension to a state of relaxation is a very powerful catalyst for integration and change.

I teach classes and workshops in and around Manchester including The Life Centre. I also mentor new yoga teachers and trainee teachers and I am an external independent assessor for yoga trainings.
